After the well over 1,000 Israelis killed on Oct. 7, and the thousands more Palestinians in the Gaza Strip killed in the war against Hamas, it may appear unseemly to focus on the relatively small and sadly familiar clashes between settlers and Palestinians in the West Bank. But it would be a mistake to overlook the danger of the escalation in settler violence over the past month.That appears to be the calculation of the militant settlers and nationalist extremists in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, ardent champions of expanding the Jewish presence in occupied territories. (AP) – U.S. health officials are warning doctors to be on the lookout for possible cases of lead poisoning in children after at least 22 toddlers in 14 states were sickened by lead linked to tainted pouches of cinnamon apple puree and applesauce.Children ages 1 to 3 were affected, and at least one child showed a blood lead level eight times higher than the level that raises concern, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said. There’s no safe level of lead exposure, but the CDC uses a marker of 3.5 micrograms per deciliter to identify children with higher levels than most. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A little bit of holiday magic is returning to the Capital Region. For the first time in five years, the Toys for Tots Holiday Train is making a stop in the area.The train will be pulling into town on Dec. 2. Families can grab a toy from some of the Marine Corps volunteers or say hi to Santa. The convoy is continuing to collect toys throughout the month of November, and they are looking for more volunteers to bring holiday cheer to kids in need. All season long, the Colorado State football team has searched for some kind of spark to get its running game on track.Before the start of the season, it didn’t look like that would be a problem with last year’s leading rusher Avery Morrow returning and transfer Kobe Johnson expected to have a significant impact as well.But along the way, both got injured, Johnson so much that the Rams decided to shut him down and redshirt him this season. Violent sucker-punch caught on camera leaves 68-year-old man severely injured

A brutal attack on an elderly store employee in Riverside County that was captured on surveillance footage last month has left the victim seriously injured and hospitalized. Now, the grieving family wants justice.  The violent assault happened on Oct. 27 outside Sun Valley Market and Liquor on Simpson Road in Winchester where the victim, 68-year-old Carlos Munguia, has worked for four years.  Surveillance footage from a nearby business captured the incident.  The 68-year-old can be seen on video taking the trash out with a dolly in the store’s parking lot when a man approaches him and starts talking to him before suddenly sucker-punching Munguia and running away.  “Right now, he barely opens his eyes.
